About this tool
How the check works
Mangal dosha looks for Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house. This calculator counts those houses from your ascendant, from your Moon and from Venus, and shows you which of the three found it.
That is half of all houses, counted from three starting points, so a first yes is very common. It is why the exceptions matter just as much as the placement, and why this calculator names any that apply.
What a yes does and does not mean
Mars is energy, drive and heat. Traditionally, a Mars placement in these houses is read as more force in the home and in partnership, something to understand and work with. It is not a verdict on you or on any marriage.
Classical rules also cancel the dosha in several cases, such as Mars in its own sign or its exaltation, or Mars sitting with Jupiter. When one of these applies, the calculator still shows where Mars sits and adds the reason the dosha does not stand, so you can see it for yourself.
Manglik questions
Does being manglik mean my marriage will have problems?
No. It describes where Mars sits, and it does not decide how a marriage goes. Plenty of other things in both charts matter, along with the two people themselves. Use it as one question to look into, not as a reason to worry.
What if both partners are manglik?
The oldest and most widely used rule says that two manglik partners balance each other, so the dosha is considered cancelled between them. Our kundli matching tool checks this on both charts together.
Why do two websites give me different answers?
Some count only from the ascendant, while others also count from the Moon and Venus. Some apply exceptions and some do not, and a different birth time can move your houses as well. This calculator shows its working, so you can compare.
