Price: the free part is the difference
Astrotalk's chat page listed astrologers between ₹20 and ₹61 a minute when we checked, and calls up to ₹90. Kismo starts at ₹15 and each astrologer sets a single rate that applies to chat and call alike. The gap at the bottom is small. The gap at the start is where it shows: Kismo's first session is free with any astrologer who is online, with no card and no balance to load first, and the counter is on screen the whole time. Astrotalk advertises a free first chat too; reviewers report that it ends quickly and that the recharge screen follows.
Billing: where the complaints live
Open any review site and the anger is about the meter, not the prediction. Astrotalk's Trustpilot score is currently withheld after fake reviews were removed, and 55% of the reviews that remain are one star, most of them about duplicate charges, refunds refused and support that answers with the same paragraph. On MouthShut the pattern repeats: calls that reconnect and keep billing, gemstones bought on an astrologer's advice.
We are not immune to a dropped call. What we do differently is mechanical: one rate on the profile and that rate on the bill, the chat paused for a top-up instead of cut when your balance runs out, every chat you have paid for kept readable, and a support team that is ours rather than the astrologer's.
Upsell: the quiet cost
AstroMall is a real business inside Astrotalk, and an astrologer there can recommend a stone or a puja that the app then sells. Kismo has no shop. An astrologer here earns from your minutes and from a thank-you gift you choose to send, never from a remedy, so there is nothing to steer the reading towards.
Astrologers: who gets in
Both apps verify. Astrotalk checks government ID and credentials, holds a live interview and runs a 30-day monitored probation. Kismo's four steps are a qualification review, a panel interview, live audits of real sessions, and the same 30-day probation, and an astrologer stays only while their sessions hold up. On paper this is a tie. In practice, a pool of Astrotalk's size is hard to audit, and the reviews that worry us are about who is on the other end of the chat.

Their site says so for new users but does not say for how long, and reviewers report it ends quickly. On Kismo the first session is free, needs no card, and the counter is on screen.

Which is cheaper for a 10-minute reading?

Can I get a refund?
