What the 4.0 is about
InstaAstro sits at 4.0 on the Play Store with about eight million installs, against 4.6 and 4.7 for the apps it advertises against. Read the one-star reviews and they are not about astrology. They describe a rate shown low until the wallet is loaded and then raised, a clock that runs while the astrologer takes minutes to type, "server overload" errors with the minutes still deducted, and support that replies with the same paragraph and no refund.
None of that is unique to InstaAstro; it is the pattern of the category. It is unusually loud there.
The first chat: ₹1 vs free
InstaAstro's first chat is ₹1, and a ₹1 recharge adds ₹100 of credit. That is cheap, and it is also a recharge before you have spoken to anyone. Kismo's first session needs no card and no balance. You pick any astrologer who is online, the counter runs on screen, and the astrologer's rate applies only once the free part ends.
The rate after the top-up
The complaint that repeats most on InstaAstro's store pages is the rate changing after money is in the wallet: new users see the top astrologers at ₹5 a minute, then find them at their normal rate once the credit is loaded. Kismo does not have introductory rates. Each astrologer has one rate, from ₹15 a minute, shown on the profile and used on the bill, for chat and call alike.
